As much as I love this postgrad course, I miss work!
Patients and machinery and the stress and the challenges and oooooh…

1. Say “hi” to your coworkers when you arrive at the beginning of your shift. It’s not really nice to ask for help when you didn’t even say “good morning.”
2. If you didn’t document it, you didn’t do it.
3. Make friends with as many people as possible (other RNs, transporters,…
It’s Nurse’s Week, yay for this!
Maybe we’ll be given extra time to piss?
That probably won’t happen, this I know.
Maybe they’ll take our picture, line us all up in a row?
Probably not, we’re not that lucky.
But it’s ok, the week doesn’t have to be sucky.
We’ll just think…

Yesterday I learned that tampons were not originally created for ~feminine hygiene~ but for plugging up bullet wounds for WW1 and the nurses started using them and were like actually this is p fucking effective and voila tampons thanks WW1

When bringing cake, sweets, snacks or whatever to work, I quickly learned to pack a little extra for all those people who suddenly remembered where your ward is…
Tomorrow I start my postgraduate in Tropical Medicine.
I’m super excited, but this means I need to sit still and shut up from 9 till 6 every day.
